The Start-up Garage pre-aplication deadline is Februry 15, 2011

The Start-up Garage provides students at Ottawa post secondary institutions with an opportunity to start or grow their own business. It is not a business case competition; it is a program where participants are expected to deliver results. You tell us what you are going to to, and we provide the resources so that you can do it. Up to 3 team members of a company can be funded through the Start-up Garage, although the team may include additional members. Applicants are strongly encouraged to build a team with diverse expertise including a member with business/marketing/management background in order to bring complementary skills to the project, and increase the chances of successfully achieving project milestones.

Applicants who demonstrate that their opportunity meets Start-up Garage criteria will be invited to deliver an oral presentation to the Start-up Garage. Teams selected to the Start-up Garage, will sign the Start-up Garage contract prior to receiving funds and commencing the program.

The key dates are as follows:

Pre-Application February 15, 2011
Full Application March 22, 2011
Short list and invitations to present March 26, 2011
Final Selection April 15, 2011

The Pre-Application will be an early draft of your application and will not be formally evaluated. It enables the Start-up Garage team to identify interested students in order to better help them submit a stronger Full Application. If you have missed the Pre-Application date, please submit as soon as possible to ensure you get feedback in advance of the Full Application deadline.
