Dan Dicaire win Technology Venture Challenge 2009

Congratulations to University of Ottawa engineering graduate student Dan Dicaire who’s pitch last night involving hybrid materials that can store solar energy won $10,000 as the winner of the Technology Venture Challenge 2009.

Earlier in the day Dan had placed third in province at OCE Discovery 09 in the OCE Discovery Student video Competition. Finally, Last month Dan had been awarded one of the Engineering Entrepreneurship and Innovation Awards

Also a big round of applause to Mark Pearson and Dr Hanan Anis for all of the efforts that went into another successful TVC competition for uOttawa students!!

uOttawa Students collect innovation awards!

Le succès de deux nouveaux diplômés en génie de l’Université d’Ottawa, Kris Woodbeck et Mehrdad Rafat, a été reconnu en septembre 2008. à l’occasion du Défi innovation organisé par le Conseil de recherches en sciences naturelles et en génie du Canada (CRSNG).

The two graduate students each received a third place award in this national competition for students pursuing graduate studies in the natural sciences and engineering.  Woodbeck and Rafat join a number of uOttawa Engineering students who have won over $60,000 in innovation and entrepreneurship competitions in 2008.
